Happy Birthday to Portland Pin-Ups!
This week marks 7 years exactly since Portland Pin-Ups was officially born. After moving to Portland in the summer of 2007, I began lighting and retouching tests for the style that would become the Portland Pin-Ups signature look. After photographing a few local models, on April 24th 2008 I met the one and only Cherry Dollface, and life as I knew it changed immediately. Already an estabished pin-up model, Cherry lit up my studio and introduced me to the world of pin-ups. Instantly, I was hooked and found every waking moment obsessed with creating my version of pin-up art.
Within a few months, ladies were beginning to ask about booking a session for their own pin-ups, and my own pin-up adventure had begun.Over the last 7 years, I have had the enormous pleasure of creating pin-up artwork for hundreds of clients and Portland Pin-Ups is not only the most sought after, but also the only full-time specialist pin-up studio in the north west.
Along the way, I’ve also been privileged to present workshops for aspiring photographers all across America, Canada and as far away as Australia, and also been asked to speak at conventions in Canada and also at the prestigious WPPI conference in Las Vegas, which is a huge honor. When my family and I moved to Oregon 8 years ago, I had no idea it would end up with me finding a new path, a new career and as much happiness as it has brought me.
