A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….
Yes, before I dedicated my working life to pin-up artistry, I spent many happy summers as a wedding photographer. One of the best parts of wedding photography, for me, was always the engagement session – no timeline, no rush to get things done before the speeches, just a relaxed and fun session, capturing a couple in romantic settings.
This engagement session…was…different!
My good friend, Sandy Puc, is a very well known portrait photographer from Denver who tours the world teaching all aspects of running a successful photography studio. I first met Sandy years ago when I was presenting at a seminar in Nashville – she came to see what I do, then asked if I could create a pin-up of her for the Animoto company. Since then I’ve created some great artworks for Sandy (or Sam, as her friends know her) mainly for her tour advertising.
A few weeks ago, she asked if I was available for a top secret project…her engagement! Of course I jumped at the chance, and from a brief outline of “something 1920s movie related” I set to work planning the session, in the most Portland Pin-Up way possible!
On hand on session day was our long suffering make-up artist, Hollie and from Allure, Maxine to handle hair.
Below are the final images, and a behind the scenes that Sandy and her beau, Candelario, shot for us while they were here. Great fun!
Kim Kravitz - HA! These are awesome!! Really enjoyed the BTS video too. 🙂
